Peter Saul: Crime and Punishment. New Museum, New York. On view through 31 May 2020

Michael Werner Gallery is pleased to announce Peter Saul: Crime and Punishment, on view through 31 May at the New Museum, New York. This exhibition is Saul’s first museum survey in New York and includes approximately sixty paintings from the last six decades.

Peter Saul: Crime and Punishment is curated by Massimiliano Gioni and Gary Carrion-Murayari. The exhibition will be accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue co-published with Phaidon Press.

Since his first solo exhibition in Chicago in 1961, Peter Saul has exhibited his work throughout the United States and internationally, most recently with the exhibition Pop, Funk, Bad Painting and More at Les Abattoirs, Toulouse (2019), which travels later this year to Le Delta in Namur, Belgium. Saul’s works are found in numerous museum collections worldwide, including the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York; Museum of Modern Art, New York; Whitney Museum of American Art, New York; Art Institute of Chicago; Carnegie Museum, Pittsburgh; Centre Pompidou, Paris; Los Angeles County Museum of Art; Moderna Museet, Stockholm; Museum Ludwig, Cologne; and Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam.
