Casino is one of the best movies of the 90’s and one of the best directed by Scorsese. Starring Robert De Niro and Jose Pesci) and the great actress Sharon Stone in maybe, her most celebrated role.

Maybe the masterpiece of Scorsese.

Casino Plot

“Ace” Rothstein (Robert De Niro), plays by the Vegas rules, while Nicky (Joe Pesci) and Ginger (Sharon Stone) lie, cheat, and steal to get what they want. This drama chronicles their rise to power in the gambling empire. (FIlmaffinity)

Movie Reviews

“In fascinating detail and with dazzling finesse, ‘Casino’ lays out how the mob controlled and ultimately lost Las Vegas (…) An extraordinary piece of filmmaking, the picture is rough and unflinching” Todd McCarthy: Variety

“To a degree, the strategy works; it creates an almost surgical slice of backroom intrigue. Yet the discursive, this-happened-and-this-happened-and-then-this approach that Scorsese employs has a serious drawback.” Owen Gleiberman: Entertainment Weekly

“There’s an interesting expositional side to the film, with De Niro and Joe Pesci’s characters both serving as interactive narrators, but the film never becomes very involving as drama” Jonathan Rosenbaum: Chicago Reader

Our Opinion

A masterpiece. A film full of poetry and rhythm.
